"Christ did not say to his first disciples,
'go forth to the world and preach idle tales'
but unto them he gave a true foundation"

Gnosis and Christianity
In the gospel of Matthew, Jesus distinguishes 2 types of Knowledge: The 'Parables' through which he teaches the multitudes, and the 'Knowledge of the Mysteries' which he gives solely to his disciples...
"And the disciples came and said to Jesus, 'Why do You speak to them in parables?' He replied, 'Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them'.... 'this why I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand " ....Matthew 13
This mystical knowledge "the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven'" is Gnosis. Passed on in secret from Master to disciple, it was responsible for the Great movements of Gnostic Enlightenment in Rome, Carthage, and Alexandria in the centuries following Jesus. The Great Gnostic Masters Valentinus, Basilides, Carpocrates and others, all learned the mysteries in their succession from the disciples of the Great ‘Master of Masters', Jeshua Ben Pandira, who we know today as Jesus Christ.
Throughout the ages, and due to the persecutions of the greater Church, the Gnostic movements moved underground. In the Middle ages we find Gnosis hidden in the works of the Alchemists, and in the Secret order of the Knights Templar, the Mystical symbols of the Freemasons, and the Esoteric Kabalah of the Rosicrucians. The same Mystical Gnosis is expressed in the Works of the Master musicians of Germany, in the writings of the Great poets such as Dante and Shakespear,...In the Paintings and artworks of the Great Christians, Leonardo and Michaelangelo and so many others,..
To 'one who knows', Gnosticism is evident in the works of the Great founders and reformers of Christianity... and within Christianity, as in all religions, we find a Marvelous Treasury of Gnostic Esoteric knowledge and symbolism....
